Dr. & Mrs. Yuval Raz

We had the pleasure of photographing Rose and Yuval's wedding on November 22 at the Reflections of the Buttes. Yuval and Rose celebrated with a traditional Jewish ceremony. Their ceremony was on Saturday. Because the wedding was on Saturday -the Sabbath, they have to wait until there are 3 stars in the sky. The actually ceremony took place at night and it was verrrrry dark.
I love photographing Jewish Weddings because everything they do during the day has a special meaning linking it to tradition and their beliefs.
Rose had two outfits for the day. A cute cocktail dress for the cocktail hour and then changed into her amazing dress for the ceremony.

During the ceremony, Yuval performed the "Breaking of the Glass" Rose put definitions of all the traditions in the program for the guest. She said that her favorite interpretation of this practice is that this will be the last time Yuval will get to put his foot down. With the breaking of the glass everyone yells "Mazel Tov!"
But.......when Yuval went to break the glass, the glass went flying into the little ravine. You can see the Rabbi trying to recover the glass for the 2ND attempt. This is what makes a wedding.....The Unexpected.

I love first dances. I think that is the first time the bride and groom get to actually embrace each other and look into each others eyes and forget about the activities of the day. This is when the thought of "We are married" hits home.

Rose and Yuval chose to have their guests sign two China heirloom serving plates. Love this idea.

This is Rose and her Dad's first dance. He was so adorable. He sang to her the entire dance. Then later he let loose on the dance floor. GO DAD!
