Photo Session to Challenge our creative juices

My sweet neice is a photo junkie.  We have started a tradition in recent years to do a model session for her birthday.  This year she is 14 and said she wanted something different.  She called her theme "Memories of Broken Dreams".  (she is to young to really know what that means...LOL)  She wanted it to look mysterious.  I figured the movie "Twighlight" was what this young teen is wanting.

I loved the challenge to our creativity.  I wanted her to still be sweet but give her the mystery she was wanting.  Kind of acting out a book or play.

So here is a sneek peak of what is to come.  She was extremely happy with the pic.

SanDiego.....A Little R&R

I dont blog much about our personal life....But every once in a while I will.  This is our trip to beautiful San Diego.  We went to watch the Holiday Bowl, but wont talk about that.  The only players that showed up was the band.  They were amazing.

We decided to go Whale watching the day before.  We were blessed with beautiful weather.  Here we are heading out of the harbor on the boat with towntown in the background.

As we head out we come across a large population of Dolphins.  Aparently they love to ride the waves coming off the boat.  They are amazing-graceful and beautiful.

We finally found a sighting of a full size adult grey whale after couple hours of searching 9 miles out. When he spouts and there is no wind, it looks like a heart.

Heading back to the Harbor, we again were blessed with an amazing evening and stunning sunset.

So I leave you with me.....being well...silly (some would say),   Just excited.  This was taken on the landing strip on top of the U.S.S. Midway

Whewww - Whewwww

Ok.....I am not one to toot my own horn......but Whewww - Whewwww.

We have two new publications in circulation. First - Tucson Bride and Groom. We love this magazine. They splatter our pictures through out their beautiful magazine.

Tucson Bride and Groom Magazine did a 2-page spread on Stephanie and Aaron who got married at the Wild Horse Oasis.

Here is our full page ad. The bride is Cirraco married at the ZMansion

Here are just a few of the shots they used for their articles. We do not pay for these extra shots to go in the magazine. Tucson Bride and Groom has no obligation to use them. But because they love them .....they do :)

This romantic shot was also taken at the Wild Horse Oasis and the couple is Vicki and Aaron.

Wild Horse was the location of choice I guess. Donald and Ashley also wed there and this shot was taken on the grassy area by the creek.

The shot on the left is our Groom - Josh who married Ashley and this is on the rocks at Saguaro Buttes.

The shot on the left is Donald preparing to get married with his lovely soon to be wife (now married) - Ashley

This year we are published in the Arizona Weddings Magazine.

AZ Wedding Magazine featured a two page article on a very sweet couple - Garrett and Marissa married at Saguaro Buttes.

And the finale a full page ad on the inside back cover - Whewwww - Whewwww. Awesome placement. We are very excited about it.
Hope you pick up a copy of both and check it out.
The couple in the ad is Vicki and Aaron

In the event of a Fire - WHAT WOULD YOU SAVE

Hypothetically - Your house is on fire, what do you save.? Fast you only have seconds to react.

1. Family

2. Pets

3.........

I would imagine that overwhelmingly 99% you would say the 3rd thing would be photographs.

Yes, Photographs ranks right up there with the most valuable items you posses. Why you ask? They hold the value of putting images to your memories. Our memories are short and we loose much as we progress in age.....believe me.....I know. Plus you want your children and each generation to come to see these valuable jewels.

Pictures of your first birthday, your children, your best friend, your first car.......Your wedding.

Can you imagine loosing the first kiss or your first dance on your wedding day to a natural disaster or even to choice. I dare to imagine such a tragedy.

Just wanted to throw that out to all those brides wondering if they should have a professional photographer at their wedding. I can not imagine going through life wishing you had those photographs.

We will be at the next Tucson Bridal Magazine bridal fair on July 19th at the TCC. FREE ADMISSION!! If you want to reserve us to photograph your wedding before the rest of the brides, call us as soon as you have your date set. We look forward to hearing from you.

Why our Clients love Something Blue

OK, so I know most of you visit the blog to see the stories of our Brides and Grooms. And believe me there are so many coming - so please come back soon. I am on dead lines to get our anxious Brides their pics. But I wanted to throw in a fun tid-bit about us. Our clients love Something Blue for many reasons. One....well, that we will do just about anything to get a shot.

This weekend we shot Richard and Evelyn's wedding and I came across this shot that my hubby unsuspectingly was taking of me. Where else, but on the ground.

Results......Whimsy and fun

So, all is fair in Love and War......Here is one of Jon that I unsuspectingly caught of him. LOL

Result....Dramatic and beautiful.

Remember, we will do just about anything short of jumping off a cliff to get the shot. And if you gave us a parachute, we would probably jump off the cliff. Its all in fun and to get the shot!!!
HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!

Vegas Wedding Session

So, this is a long time coming. The first two days of our Vegas Convention we spent in a Plus Class with JB and DeEtte Sallee. They are an amazing husband/wife photography team out of Dallas, TX. They were Dallas Photographer of the Year in 2006, 2007 and 2008. They won over 10 awards at WPPI this year. During the class we had a wedding couple photo session. Check out these pictures we were able to take.

We take our job serious and want to continue to learn and grow with each day. By going to WPPI and other such conventions and seminars we are able to stretch our creativity and give each couple more than they are paying for and give them memories they can be proud of for the rest of their lives.

Here is a picture of all the photographers that went along on the shoot. We are all goofballs. Jon and I are the last two on the right- top row.
